What do you see as the biggest challenge for the next 5 years?
Lukas Masek:
While there are many challenges, we embrace these challenges. Working diligently to address the issues and provide solutions for our customers is what differentiates us in the marketplace. Meanwhile, sustainability is a very important area of focus for us.
We works hard to create new packaging solutions and machines with sustainable practices in mind. We work closely with many packaging manufacturers to develop sustainable materials that are biodegradable and recyclable for film and cartooning applications.
How do you see “Industry 4.0” in the packaging industry?
Jan Masek:
At Viking Masek we have been working on Industry 4.0 for many years. Allowing us to offer various options for our machines such as data collection systems, cleverconnection, easy-automatic changeovers, 3D prototyping and more.
How is Viking Masek handling the current issues of the global market?
Lukas Masek:
Like many other other companies Viking Masek is faced with supply chain issues, interrupted transportation routes, etc… However, due to the output volume and size of Viking Masek, we have successfully maintained a large stock of parts as we are an important partner to our vendors. We have done well to prepare for unpleasant events such as these. We also work hard to find new and innovative solutions to reduce lead times.
Will the situation change?
Jan Masek:
We remain hopeful. Although we expect that we will continue to face these issues for the remainder of 2022. Fortunately, as Lukas mentioned we have been preparing for a situation such as this. We prioritize our customers which allows us to deliver the best machines in a timely manner.
